About This Guide

A Local's Guide to Loving Summer Here.

I'm Kari — Arizona native, Compass Realtor, Jeep girl, coffee lover, and someone who genuinely loves helping people discover the lifestyle behind where they live.

Most people ask how I stand the summers. Honestly? I wouldn't trade them. You just have to know how to live in them. This guide is exactly that — the spots I bring my clients, my grandkids, and myself when the rest of the valley is hiding indoors.

Not a travel blog list. My actual places. The ones I go back to every year without hesitation.

01
Best Early Morning Spots
Before the Heat Hits
Dog-Friendly Patio

Otro Café

Soulful, eclectic, locally-rooted. The kind of place that feels like a secret even when it's packed. Ask for the cortado.

Sunrise Patio

The Henry

Elevated brunch energy before the crowd arrives. The patio is everything — beautiful people, good light, great eggs.

Cortado + Views

Hillside Spot

A tucked-away spot with views that hit different at 7am. Pack your journal. This is a "be still" kind of morning.

Weekend Ritual

Local Farmers Markets

Sunday mornings before 9am — grab a cold brew, walk slowly, let the vendors tell you their stories.

02
Arizona Hidden Gems
#AZJeepHiddenGems · Worth the Drive
Jeep Approved

Tortilla Flat

A true Arizona original — 6 residents, a saloon, and walls covered in dollar bills. Drive the Apache Trail on the way out and your jaw will drop.

Scenic Drive

Apache Trail

One of the most dramatic roads in the Southwest. Unpaved, raw, and breathtaking. Best driven early morning before the heat. Bring snacks.

Water Escape

Saguaro Lake

Desert meets water in the most stunning way. The boat tours are underrated. You'll feel like you've left Arizona entirely — except you haven't.

Mountain Air

Prescott Escapes

Two hours north and 20 degrees cooler. Whiskey Row, Thumb Butte hikes, the courthouse square. A perfect summer reset. (And I can help you find a home there too.)

Golden Hour

Four Peaks Views

Pull over on Beeline Hwy at golden hour. The silhouette of Four Peaks in the alpenglow is something you can't filter your way to — you have to see it live.

The Farm at South Mountain

"My Jeep has taken me to every one of these. I'll go back to all of them again before summer ends. There's something about exploring Arizona in a Jeep that feels like freedom — the raw kind."
